Operation Flashpoint 2 is the official sequel to the award winning Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. The game is a ‘first person shooter’ and military simulator, which challenges players to survive the chaos and rapidly evolving situations of modern warfare in a new contemporary theatre.
Mission 6 Hip Shot is set at the end of the 1st day of operations. The USMC Special Operations team are given a mission to cripple the enemy’s fuel supply by destroying the pumping generator within the island’s fuel depot. This must be a tactical strike with as little damage being done to the fuel depot as possible.
A second Spec Ops team assist the player’s team by creating a diversion and leading some of the defensive forces away from the base.
This mission is intended as a stealth mission with the player relying on patience to pick the moment of attack, and gadgets such as Night Vision goggles and thermal scopes to assist.
